Sports and Health
The University of Pavia is not only about study and research but also about health and psychophysical balance. These are the vocations of the University of Pavia, whose tradition is rich in sporting successes at all levels: sports are present in the life of every student in various forms and become an integral part of their university life.
To support the academic career of students involved in high-level sports competitions, the University of Pavia promotes the establishment of extraordinary exam sessions outside the competitive period.
The University Regulations also provide for the recognition of ECTS credits (CFU) based on the level of sports activity practiced and participation in the National University Championships (CNU) as athletes of CUS Pavia.
The University of Pavia can rely on a real sports department. Thanks to the longstanding collaboration established with competent Sports Federations, champions of canoeing and rowing study and train here, keeping the name of the University of Pavia high by competing on racecourses worldwide - often achieving first place with crews from the most prestigious universities. But equally important are all the other proposals with competitive, recreational, or sports initiation purposes aimed at the entire university community. Courses available include: canoeing, rowing, fencing, climbing, fitness, athletics, basketball, volleyball, football, tag rugby, archery, pilates and yoga.
Pavia offers: 2 sports halls, 4 public swimming pools, 3 private sports clubs, 26 school gyms, 8 university gyms, 20 multi-purpose playing fields, 15 football pitches, 5 boules areas, 4 private equestrian centers, 20 tennis fields, and numerous other facilities including golf courses and skating rinks.
It is worth mentioning the intercollegiate tournaments, reserved for teams from university colleges, which annually award the Collegi Trophy. More at https://www.cuspavia.org/.
