ECONOMICS, AND DATA ANALYSIS FOR INDUSTRY AND POLICY

The objective of the program is to train professionals with advanced skills capable of analyzing complex economic systems characterized by rapid technological transformations, innovation processes, firm dynamics, and regulated environments. Particular emphasis is placed on the evidence-based design and evaluation of public policies, as well as on sustainability goals. MEDIP prepares graduates to work in public institutions, private organizations, and research centers at both national and international levels. The delivery of the program in English promotes internationalization and is integrated with mobility programs and doubledegree opportunities with partner European universities. The program provides a solid theoretical and empirical background, enabling students to tackle complex problems and understand the interactions among economic, political, and social actors in both global and local contexts. Students acquire the skills needed to address real-world challenges in industrial and digital markets, with a focus on innovation, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and competition regulation, and to contribute to public policy evaluation with attention to environmental and social aspects. Structured over four semesters, the curriculum is divided into distinct tracks that include courses in industrial economics, economics of innovation, international economics, environmental and health economics, quantitative methods for policy analysis and evaluation, mathematical and statistical disciplines, business economics, and law. The program builds on the Department’s established research areas, combining advanced expertise in economics, econometrics, and data analysis with an applied approach that integrates macro and microeconomics, firm dynamics, and legal knowledge. In addition to core courses, complementary and supplementary activities strengthen quantitative and IT skills, which are now essential in the labor market TRACKS.
