The Master’s Degree Program in Economic Development and International Relations (SERI) is designed for students interested in multidisciplinary training in economics, law, political science and history, which is essential for the analysis and interpretation of global phenomena.
The program’s multidisciplinary approach provides a broad and in-depth understanding of the complex and dynamic international context, while also building on the long-standing tradition of international studies that characterises the University of Pavia.
The main disciplines contributing to the training of SERI graduates, including economics, political and social sciences, law, history and languages, are essential for understanding the different dynamics that interact within the international system. They provide training based on different methodological approaches through which globalisation and the transformation of international structures are studied and interpreted.
SERI pays particular attention to international cooperation and development economics, processes and mechanisms of integration in different regions of the world, relations between industrialised and emerging countries, the role of international organisations, and the international policies of different national and multilateral actors.
The SERI study plan provides for approximately half of the courses to be taught in English, preparing students to communicate effectively in international contexts.
The flexibility of the SERI study plan gives students the opportunity to spend at least one semester abroad through the various Erasmus programs. Agreements for Double Degree programs are also being developed, allowing students to spend their second year abroad and obtain a degree from both institutions.
