Enroll in single courses
Enrollment in single courses allows you to attend classes and take the final exam for one or more subjects from various bachelor's or master's degree programs, including single-cycle degrees. This option is useful for those who:
- Want to update their knowledge on specific topics
- Need to retrain or supplement their professional skills
- Need to acquire curricular requirements for admission to a master's degree program
- Are university students enrolled in foreign universities and wish to attend courses, either as part of mobility programs and agreements or on an individual initiative.
The minimum requirement for enrolling in single courses is a secondary school diploma (or equivalent qualification).
Deadlines:
- Enrollment in single courses for the first semester: by October 3, 2024 (from October 4 to November 7, 2024, with a late fee and authorization from the course instructor)
- Enrollment in single courses for the second semester: by March 3, 2025 (from March 4 to April 4, 2025, with a late fee and authorization from the course instructor)
The late fee is not applicable if the enrollment is established by the Admission Commission for the master's degree.
Important instructions:
- Enrollment in courses offered by degree programs with nationally regulated programmed access, is not allowed.
- For degree programs with locally regulated limited access, if there are remaining spots, enrollment in single courses is possible with the favorable opinion of the relevant Academic or Departmental Council.
- The maximum number of credits that can be purchased in a year is 30 CFU.
- The choice of single course cannot be changed.
- Some courses may require prerequisites; therefore, it is recommended to check the access conditions before enrolling. Among the prerequisites is the requirement to know the language of instruction:
- For courses taught in English, knowledge of the language is required as specified in the academic regulations of the degree programs to which the single course belongs.
- For courses taught in Italian, students with foreign qualifications are required to have knowledge of the Italian language at the B2 level.
- Enrollment in a single course is valid only for the academic year of reference. If the student does not take or pass the exam in the scheduled sessions, they can take it within the following academic year by only repaying the enrollment fee.
Note:
according to the regulations from the Italian Ministry of Education (Ministero dell'Università e della Ricerca) that define the access of the international students to the Italian Universities, students who obtained a residence permit after the enrollment in a single course will be able to renew the permit and enroll in a study program only if the subject of the single course is related to the discipline of the study program.
