In line with the programme’s professionally oriented approach, theoretical learning is complemented by practical activities designed to develop specific operational skills. These activities benefit from the contribution of personnel from the Carabinieri, the Italian State Police, the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza), as well as professionals working in the security sector.

To provide students with specialised preparation aligned with specific career paths, the programme offers two study tracks, accounting for a total of 12 ECTS credits, in addition to the 3 ECTS credits assigned to the final dissertation. Each track includes courses aimed at developing specialised knowledge and professional competencies.

Criminology, Investigation and Security Track

This track enables students to deepen their knowledge of the criminological, criminal law, sociological, historical and international aspects related to crime prevention and law enforcement, the protection of fundamental rights, and the management of deviant behaviour.

Students may choose from the following courses: Criminal Policy, Criminal Enforcement, Human Sciences and Neuroscience, General Psychology, Legal Clinic in Anti-Mafia Legislation, History of the Italian Mafias, Legal Clinic on Domestic Violence, Human Rights and Social Inclusion, International Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, Comparative Constitutional Law, Theories and Tools for Public Policy, Sociology of Law. 

Compliance Law and Corporate Security Track

This track is designed to prepare professionals capable of working in the fields of compliance, risk prevention, security, and the management of economic and organisational relationships in both the public and private sectors.

Students may choose from the following courses: Criminal Proceedings against Legal Entities, Commercial Criminal Law, Labour Contract Law, Forensic and Corporate Communication Techniques, Organisational Innovation, Personnel and Gender Economics, Stakeholder Reporting and Internal Control, Banking and Investment Services Law, European Union Law, International Commercial Law.
