Artificial Intelligence - FAQ
1. Is the Degree Course for a limited number of students?
Yes. The Bachelor’s Degree Course in Artificial Intelligence is an inter-university degree course offered by the University of Pavia, in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca and the University of Milan. It is taught in English and has a limited number of available places.
2. Which test do I need to take to compete for a seat?
For EU students and non-EU students residing in Italy, it is necessary to have taken one of the following tests:
- CEnT-S, either CEnT@UNI or CEnT@CASA, taken at any Italian university from November 2025 onwards, with a minimum normalized score of 20 (sum of the sections “Mathematics” and “Reasoning on texts and data);
or
- English TOLC-I, either at university or TOLC@CASA, taken at any Italian university from 1 January 2025 onwards, with a minimum total score of 21/50.
Please note that the English TOLC-I was discontinued in November 2025 and is no longer available, but valid tests taken within the period indicated in the call may still be used.
For non-EU students residing outside Italy, it is necessary to take the SAT, with a minimum total score of 979/1600.
3. What are CEnT-S, English TOLC-I and SAT?
The CEnT-S is a test administered through CISIA group and may be taken either:
- on university premises, as CEnT@UNI;
- online from home, as CEnT@CASA.
For admission to Artificial Intelligence, the relevant score is the normalized score obtained in the sections Mathematics and Reasoning on texts and data.
The English TOLC-I is the English version of the TOLC-I test, organised and administered by CISIA. It could be taken either:
- on university premises, as English TOLC-I at the University;
- online from home, as English TOLC-I@CASA.
The English TOLC-I was discontinued in November 2025 and is no longer available, but results obtained from 1 January 2025 onwards are valid if they meet the requirements of the call.
More information and test dates are available on the CISIA website:
https://www.cisiaonline.it/
The SAT, Scholastic Assessment Test, is required for non-EU students residing outside Italy.
