Tropical Medicine and Point-of-Care Ultrasound. An integrated approach

The Advanced Course aims to let participants become familiar with diagnostic techniques used to recognize various tropical medicine-affecting diseases, with particular emphasis on the use of point-of-care methods such as ultrasound. The Course intends to train participants to operate in resource-limited settings.

The Course is designed for health professionals working in the field of tropical medicine and health cooperation, with particular regard to doctors and surgeons. The skills acquired in the Course will be useful for professionals working both in Italy and abroad, especially in countries with limited resources. Participants will be able to diagnose and treat infectious and diffusely relevant diseases in the Course context, with targeted knowledge for managing such diseases in resource-limited settings. The course is therefore intended for healthcare workers interested in gaining experience in international settings, with particular regard to health cooperation contexts.
