Philosophical knowledge: foundations, methods, applications
Philosophical Knowledge is the first Master's degree programme in Philosophy in Italy taught entirely in English, designed to equip students with the skills and confidence to navigate an increasingly globalised world. As part of the European higher education system, the programme provides graduates with access to a wide range of career opportunities in the international job market.
This innovative inter-university programme is jointly offered by the University of Bergamo, the University of Pavia and the IUSS University School for Advanced Studies Pavia. Thanks to the collaboration of highly qualified academics with extensive international experience, students benefit from a dynamic and multidisciplinary academic environment.
The programme stands out for its international outlook: every year, world-renowned philosophers are invited to contribute to teaching activities, enriching the learning experience with diverse perspectives and innovative approaches.
Philosophical Knowledge places particular emphasis on the practical applications of philosophical thinking. By developing skills in conceptual analysis, critical reasoning and argumentation, the programme prepares students to address contemporary challenges in economic, technological, political and social contexts.
The curriculum combines core philosophical disciplines, such as epistemology, philosophy of language, metaphysics and ethics, with scientific and technological subjects, including artificial intelligence, neuroscience, economics and sustainability. This interdisciplinary approach significantly broadens graduates' career prospects.
Teaching is highly interactive, combining lectures, workshops and professional internships. The programme also offers numerous opportunities for international mobility.
