The Master’s Degree Program in Methods and Technologies for Art History aims to provide students with a broad and structured knowledge of European artistic heritage from the Early Middle Ages to the contemporary age.

Advanced courses in medieval, modern and contemporary art history are complemented by specific disciplinary studies dedicated to the reception of classical art models, museography, the history of art criticism, and the history of artistic techniques and restoration.

A distinctive part of the program is dedicated to scientific technologies for the analysis of works of art and to the opportunities offered by digital humanities in the study of cultural heritage. A significant part of the program’s courses is delivered in blended mode, integrating in-person classes with online teaching modules.

In addition to the curricular internship, the most deserving students are offered the opportunity to complete a paid internship with institutions and companies operating in the field of cultural heritage, according to the UNIPV LM Plus model.

Graduates acquire scientific skills that enable them to become curators and directors of public and private museums, organise exhibitions and cultural events, and work in the fields of publishing, communication, tourism promotion and the art market. They may also pursue teaching and specialised research. In addition, they meet the basic requirements to access positions at the Soprintendenze and may apply for PhD programs in fields consistent with their study path.

The Degree Program takes part in the Lauree Magistrali Plus – LM Plus project.
